Valparaiso Chain of Lakes Watershed Group, Inc. has invited John Ervin to speak about the current status of invasive species Monday, September 16, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Commissioners’ Chamber (155 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso, IN). John is an ecologist known for his passion and unique understanding of nature. Formerly employed by IDNR-Entomology, IDNR-Nature Preserves and The Nature Conservancy, he has dedicated his life to stewardship of natural areas. He will be offering new perspectives on contemporary human ecology, and the importance of entrepreneurship in the ongoing management of non-native plants and animals. This free event is open to the public, and will be followed by a meet-and-greet at Greeks Pizzeria (59 Indiana Ave., Valparaiso, IN).
