Our speakers and nature hike leaders will include Steve Martinson, Horticulture Superintendent of the Valparaiso Parks Dept. and Naturalist and Interpretation Park Ranger, Elizabeth Hudic. Joel Postma of the Northwest Indiana Paddlers Association will conduct a canoeing and kayaking demonstration while Roland Chillian will orchestrate recreational canoe, kayak and rowboat races.

The Valpo Lakes Area Conservancy District will provide a display of macro invertebrates collected in the watershed while the Izaak Walton League, Woodland Savanna Land Conservancy, Green Drinks and other environmental groups will share literature and displays regarding protecting the watershed.

Free fishing lessons, children’s art and crafts will be provided during the event.

Naturepalooza is free and park admission cost will be free to those who bring a copy of the attached flyer.

Also bring a lawn chair, canoe or kayak if you have one, and a side dish to share at the picnic lunch. Main dish will be provided by the Valpo Chain of Lakes Watershed Group. Moreover bring your children, friends and neighbors who may be interested in enjoying the park and learning how to protect it.
