The Green Drinks crowd met tonight at Cornucopia Coffee in Valparaiso. The meeting featured a panel of green building experts and a lively discussion ensued with plenty of questions from the crowd.
Sarah Oudman, a green builder, and chairperson of Northwest Indiana Green Building Alliance gave a presentation on what makes a home green. Chris Scharzkopf of Energy Diagnostics shared some great tips for improving the energy efficiency in your home. Kurt Kenning of Ultimate Energy Solutions shared a recap of the Northwest Indiana solar home tour he organized last year.
Tracy Hall and Miriam Asya of Munster own one of the homes that were featured on last year’s solar tour. Tracy and his wife Miriam are passionate about sustainable energy. Tracy is a member of IBEW 697 and a Photovoltaic Instructor.
Many attendees shared green resources and events verbally–too many to write! I encouraged them to post relevant links here or on our Facebook page. Looking forward to getting those links and I’m sure others will as well!
Next month’s Green Drinks will be held Tuesday, April 19th and our focus will be on locally grown food. May’s meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 16th, speaker and program to be determined.
