Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission’s 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan, chosen for the prestigious national 2013 Daniel Burnham Award, will be presented by Steve Strains, Deputy Director. NIRPC’s vision centers on revitalizing cities, making them more sustainable and livable. During the planning process, local governments, regional stakeholders and the public worked together to identify regional land use priorities and to translate these into strategies for smart growth and urban revitalization, multimodal transportation investment, economic development, and protection of green infrastructure. Hear a brief presentation, get clarification, and find out how we can support our elected officials in actualizing this plan. Suggested donation: $5, student & seniors $2.
