Book Title: “Shift Your Habit: Easy Ways to Save Money, Simplify Your Life, and Save the Planet”
Author: Elizabeth Rogers with Colleen Howell
c2010
Publisher: Three Rivers Press
ISBN: 978-0-307-46530-6
Environmental consultant, Rogers, writes a book that will satisfy all who are too busy or not wealthy enough to ‘go green.’ Others readers may be afraid of sacrificing their families health and well-being. What began as a quick read of changes that can easily and inexpensively be made to change the planet also can end up saving practitioners hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
“Shift Your Habit” is a quick read and meant to be so. The goal is to simplify your life, live in moderation and the result is that you prosper and so does our planet. Chapters are divided into lifestyle areas: Home/Garden, Food/Drink, Kids, Pets, Work and more. Rogers points out some myths of conserving are no longer proven true such as powering down your computer causes premature wear and tear.
“Shift Your Habit” is a good book to get started with. The brief descriptions of ways to conserve are right on the money and many are really simple to begin doing! Each tip is followed by a few sentences of how you would help to conserve and also how much money you could save!
